Who of us did not sometimes envied how well such famous women as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez or Gwen Stefani look. Of course, you will say, they are spending hundreds of thousands dollars on their beauty - they just should look amazing. They and we - mere mortals, are hardly different in our desire to delight others with their beauty and style.
So why not try, for example, to depict something like “a la Madonna” on your head? Of course, given peculiarities of your hair structure and length. It may suddenly turn out that this hairstyle will look better on you, than Madonna. Let’s see how celebrities make their hair stunning and try to change yourself.
Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani can claim the title of “just a girl” in her verses, but we know she is much higher than that. A tempting combination of punk-rocker and pretty girl helped her becoming a super star and opened road to new ways of expression in fashion and music. If you want to refresh your style and have long hair (at least up to the chin), follow stylist John Sahag’s advice and you will find the same unique look.
STEP 1.
Wipe hair with a towel, so that they would remain moist, but water would not drain from them. Apply raising and fastening hairspray all over the head, then comb hair well.
STEP 2.
Start drying hair, lowering head down and combing hair in different directions. Dry, mostly at the base of hair, until hair become dry for almost 80%. As a result, hair should look lush.
STEP 3.
Move head back and continue combing toward downstream. When brush almost reaches hair ends, turn it slightly upwards and outwards, and keep drying hair from below. Your task - a bit untidy, half-curled curls.
STEP 4.
When hair become dry finally, apply some hairspray, which will make hair shiny, along whole length. (Hair color plays a great role in Gwen’s hairstyle. If you want to paint hair in this color, you should temporarily try a gel, or varnish, mascara or foam before keeping it for long.)
Jennifer Lopez
A unique combination of style and natural beauty helped Jennifer Lopez conquering listeners all over the world. Her designer Rodney Cutler shared secrets of Jennifer’s style. Follow them - and you will certainly be in the limelight. Rodney suggests this type of hairstyle for shoulder-length hair.
STEP 1.
Gently wipe hair with a towel, so that they would remain moist. Spread hair volume tonic along hair length, then comb.
STEP 2.
Before you begin to give hair shape, you need to take hair dryer with a narrow nozzle and a natural bristle brush of medium length. Separate top and bottom hair parts, twist top hair in bundles on top and fix with large bobby pins.
STEP 3.
Working with a small amount of hair, dry hair while brushing theim from base bottom to top towards scalp. Then brush hair slowly along whole length from base to ends. Having dried a bundle of hair, twist it back up and let cooling, raising with a brush for about 30 seconds. Repeat this process for all hair on back of head, starting with lower locks and moving to top until all hair at back are completed. Then dry hair from sides, using the same technique.
STEP 4.
Front hair should be slightly raised at the base. To achieve this, brush hair at roots up and slightly backwards. Having finished the process, let hair cooling on brush, as in the third paragraph.
STEP 5.
Cover hair with hairspray to fix the result.
STEP 6.
To finish this stylish hairdo, smear small amount of hair wax between your fingers. Push head down and rub in hair ends, giving them look, which Cutler calls “the most vibrant and modern.”
Madonna
Madonna never looks same twice. Today she is a modern goddess, wearing madly expensive items and jewelry, and tomorrow she is already a city girl, wearing false gems and fringe. No matter how strong she changes herself next time, you can be confident that all will want to look the same. Stylist Steven Ianello will help us recreating her glamorous, showy style that is perfectly suitable for shoulder-length hair.
STEP 1.
Having washed head with a moisturizing shampoo, gently wipe excess moisture with a towel. Apply volume hair conditioner along whole hair length.
STEP 2.
Start drying hair with a few strands from bottom of neck. Using a round brush take hair at the base and pull down, at the same time using hair dryer. When you reach hair ends, just let them falling down quietly from brush. Your goal - to achieve perfectly straight hair. Continue drying hair from bottom to top, to rear sides. Always dry hair with a few strands towards top to bottom.
STEP 3.
Dry front hair using the same way, but pull strands not downward, but upward.
STEP 4.
For wave you will need a curling nozzle with diameter of approximately 9 cm. Divide hair on back on 2 parts. Fix both parts with bobby pins, but leave small strands on each side loose.
STEP 5.
Apply hairspray on one part of hair. Attach a hair dryer with curling nozzle to the middle of hair and move it to the very end. Then twist hair clockwise half lengths. Repeat this process for the second part, but this time curling hair clockwise. Curl all back hair on this scheme, but keep in mind that hair dryer should touch only bottom.
STEP 6.
When you curl front locks, do not raise hair dryer too high and do not forget to curl them in different directions.
STEP 7.
Once whole head is curled, gently comb hair with a scallop, then with your fingers. To make hairstyle lasting longer, apply hairspray again.
